About my blogalog
Hello! You look lovely today.
Welcome to my place on the interweb. This is a writing exercise, a rant, and a reflection on the world as I experience it. Take a look around. Comment on anything that tickles your brain, your fancy, or any other ticklish parts you have.
Although 1. I am a mother, 2. this is my blog, 3. I do write this blog and other things from my home, and 4. I do most often write about women, I prefer to not be referred to as a “mommy blogger”, a “stay at home mom”, or a “chick lit” writer. Generalizing online writings by women with children by calling them “mommy blogs” is just a way to marginalize the female voice and invalidate alternative avenues we are using to get our voices heard, such as self-publishing on the web. Women write because they want to be heard, they need to be heard; they write to rise above the devalued anonymity labels like that try to keep us in. Even the most cutesy of the so-called “mommy blogs” is, at its core, an expression of feminism and humanity and should be respected as such. Every blog says, “here I am, this is what I think, and it matters”, and is not something to be trivialized with trite genre-naming. A blogger is a blogger. Anyone that disagrees can bite me. So, please no “mommy blogger”/”chick lit author” references if you actually want me to respond. I most certainly will respond to sweetheart, kitten, darling, and cunt.
Enjoy!
With love,
Bianca
P.S. ‘Tis my goal to write often. That means I write quickly. My grammar will be awful at times. I love commas and semi-colons alot. Don’t interrupt the flow, leave the editing to editors. If you are one and it bothers you, you can bite me, too (or offer me a writing gig and edit me all you want). xoxoxo

I am sitting here just reading and reading as many of your posts as I can get to tonight. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy your writing–I’ve been laughing a lot, and then suddenly in tears.
First person who pisses me off tomorrow gets a big “BITE ME” in honor of your blog.

“Generalizing online writings by women with children by calling them “mommy blogs” is just a way to marginalize the female voice and invalidate alternative avenues we are using to get our voices heard….”
Thank You!! I very much agree with this. I despise the terms mommyblogger/chick-lit, etc. I always thought it demoralizing and condescending.
Love your blog-hopped over from Chaos Is Normal.
